When you've found your perfect farm, click the "Sign Up" button or the "I Want This Share" button to get started! On the Signup page, you will see a card for each share the farm has available, and an empty shopping cart. Most farms offer a combination of "main" shares, which can be ordered independently, and "addon" shares, which can only be ordered if you already have a main share. Main shares will be active when you arrive on the signup page, while addons will be disabled until you have added a main share to your cart.
Note: If you are using a mobile device, you can access your cart at any time by clicking either the cart icon in the navigation bar, or the "View Summary" button at the top of the page.
Click the "Get Started" button on the share you are interested in. This will open a popup that walks you through the signup process. You will notice a progress bar in the header, and buttons at the bottom to navigate forward and backward through the steps, or exit the process at any time. The "Next" button will be disabled until you have completed the required information on that step. "Back" is enabled on all but the first step. The "Cancel" button closes the popup without putting anything in your cart.
Let's walk through each step
1. Size: Here, the description of the share you selected is shown, as well as each of its available sizes. Select the size that is best for you, and click Next to proceed.
2. Options: This is where you decide how often you would like to receive deliveries, and how many of your selected share size you would like to receive each time. The frequencies will vary depending on the farm you selected. With these selections, our example member would receive one medium box every week throughout the farm's growing season. If your farm only offers one delivery frequency, this step will be skipped.
3. Contact: If you are a new member, it's time to create your profile! This step will load with all fields blank and editable. Fill in your name, the email address where you would like to receive communications related to your order, a phone number where you can be reached if necessary, and the address you would like to use for deliveries. The address field will auto-populate as you type. If you have an apartment number, please enter it in the "Address (Line 2)" field.
If you are a returning member, and you are not yet logged in to your account, click the link to log in, which will then populate the form with your information. If you are already logged in, the form will be pre-filled with your profile information.
4. Delivery/Pickup: Delivery options will vary by farm, but usually include a mix of home delivery and pickup locations. The options will be shown as a list by default, but you may click "Map View" to see where the pickup locations are, or whether your address is within the farm's home delivery area. Select the option you prefer from either view.
If the farm does not have any delivery options that serve your address, you will see an alert like this one. But don't worry! You will be notified if the farm expands their delivery area in the future, or you can visit the Farms page to search for other farms near you.
Because this is the last step, the "Next" button is replaced with "Add to Cart." Click this button to close the popup and add the share to your cart.
At this time, any addon shares that are compatible with your selected main share will be enabled. You may add as many shares as you would like. If you want to change the settings for any of your shares, click the "Edit Selection" button on that share's card. Please note that if you change the frequency of a main share, or remove it from your order, your addon shares may also be changed or removed. You can also change the location for your order using the button above the cart. If you have a coupon code, enter it in the "Apply Coupon" field in the cart area at any time.
You may also see an "Employee ID" field in the cart. Some farms use this to keep track of orders for their farm staff. If you are not an employee or a volunteer with the farm, simply ignore this field.
For any subsequent shares added to this order, only the Size and Options steps are required. The rest of the values are retained from your first share.
When you are happy with your selections, click "Go To Checkout" to proceed to the final step.
Checkout: On this page, you can make any last-minute changes before completing your order. Also displayed here, if applicable, are the coupon field and the employee ID field.
Please review and accept our Member Agreement before completing your order. If the "I agree" checkbox is not selected, the "Complete Order" button will be disabled, and you will not be able to proceed.
Review the payment plan options offered by your farm and select the one you prefer to enable the "Complete Order" button. Depending on your selection, this button will either open a popup to collect your credit or debit card, or provide instructions for paying via an offline method such as check or cash. Card payments are handled by Stripe, a secure, third-party payment processing service.
When you click "Complete Order" on this modal, your order will be sent to the farm and your payment processed (if applicable). Your order details will be available on the next screen, as well as an email to the address you entered during signup. Welcome to Harvie!
For returning members: From your member dashboard, click the 'my farms' tab and then 'place order'. From here, you'll be able to follow the steps above to place a new order or add a new share/add-on item to your current order.
